Tanzania is divided into seven provinces because of the size of the country and the number of people in the church. The „Church of Moravia in Tanzania“ coordinates work in the nation. As the University of Prague was also firmly in the hands of Protestants, the local Catholic Church was unable to compete in the field of education. This formula was first put forward by Luke of Prague (1460-1528), one of the bishops of the former Unitas Fratrum. Luke taught that it was necessary to distinguish between things essential to salvation, ministerial or incidental. The beginning of the distant missions required the creation of independently administered provinces. Thus, from about 1732, the history of the Church became the history of its provinces.

One aspect of the history and mission of Moravia is the so-called „diaspora“ work in Germany and Eastern Europe, which aims to deepen and promote Christian life among members of the territorial churches, especially in Poland and the Baltic States, but also throughout the German-speaking region. Count Zinzendorf`s ideal was a community of all Christians, regardless of denominational names, and the Moravian brothers in the diaspora did not seek to convert men to the Church of Moravia, but to awaken the hearts of the faithful and make them better members of the Churches of which they were already members. First, the object of suspicion, over time, workers of the Diaspora of Moravia have become esteemed employees in Eastern Europe. This diaspora work suffered almost total destruction during the Second World War, but still continues in the Territorial Churches of Germany.
